July 2014 Modeling reel

Cut Together a new modeling reel over the past few days. It’s largely made from stills and old camera renders due to my laptop’s limited rendering ability but I don’t think that necessarily prohibits a good reel from being cut. I may still play with this a bit before sending it out to studios but I think it’s both clear and consistent while showing off what I like about much of my work and those are important things to do in any reel.
Done using: Autodesk Maya, After effects, ZBrush, and photoshop.
All assets were created by myself

What I've been up to.

I've been up to a lot in the past few months. Lots of rigging, new characters and some animation. At the top here you can see my old model "John Pinkerton" now all rigged and with a run cycle. And below him you can see my more recent character "Rahne Rayne" all rigged and walky.

Also just as an FYI I tend to update my Tumblr and DeviantArt accounts with a lot more WIP and process type stuff. So check those out if you've been missing me.

Effects Experiments:

Played around with some particle and fluid effects a while back to experiment with fire and explosions. These didn't end up too bad for starting experiments but both were limited by the render settings that my laptop could handle. I figure they're worth showing however.

Legend of Korra Model.

Made a character model from one of my favourite recently concluded animated series a while back. It's been a bit now but I'm satisfied with how she turned out and reckon she's worthy of being put up here.

"Bravest Warriors" character models.

Was bored last week and decided to watch some of Cartoon Hangover's "Bravest Warriors" on Youtube. Afterwards I decided to get some simple character modelling practice in and thus over the course of the week these guys were made. It was a really enjoyable casual project as I had to go about some of these guys a lot differently than I would with a lot of characters. In any case thought to show these folk off on my main blog.
